Steels for quenching and tempering

The steels for quenching and tempering are used for components subjected to high mechanical stress, determined by bending forces, tensile strength, torsion, compression and cutting.
The degree of static stress resistance depends on the one hand on strength properties of steel grades (such as hardness, tensile and yield strength); on the other, it depends on toughness in order to avoid brittle fractures.
